The Western Bulldogs have been boosted by the return of their State of Origin representatives for the final hit out before Opening Round next weekend.

Under the Mission Whitten Oval Friday night lights, the Dogs will take on Hawthorn, starting at 7.10pm.

Marcus Bontempelli, Tim English, Rory Lobb, Ed Richards and Aaron Naughton all come into the 26-man squad, with Bailey Dale (injured) and Will Lewis (ineligible) unvailable for the clash.

Michael Sellwood will pull the red, white and blue on for the first time in the unofficial clash, while Sam Davidson and Lachie Bramble also come into the line-up.

A bumper crowd is expected for the fixture with the VFL starting at 3.40pm prior to the AFL game.

The Dogs open their AFL season against Brisbane next Saturday night at the Gabba.
