Connor Budarick and Riley Garcia will be tested ahead of the Western Bulldogs’ Friday night clash with Port Adelaide.

Budarick has missed the last three games with a hamstring concern, while Garcia is yet to appear at senior level this year.

“Both Connor and Riley have progressed well following their recent stints in rehab,” Bulldogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said.

“Both players have now integrated into a full training model, and if both get through this week like I expect, will return to availability.”

The Bulldogs will however be without Laith Vandermeer for some time, after the small forward suffered a hamstring injury in his first game of the AFL season.

“Laith suffered an acute hamstring injury during an acceleration effort in the third quarter of our match against Fremantle,” Bell said.

“Scans have confirmed a moderate-grade hamstring injury that will see him miss at least the next six games.”

Bell also provided an update on injured key forward Sam Darcy.

“Sam had ACL reconstructive surgery on his left knee last week,” Bell said.

“All went as planned and he is in good spirts and enthusiastic to get his teeth stuck into his rehabilitation.”
