Jong has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the Bulldogs until at least the end of the 2020 season.

Western Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong is the latest to extend his contract at VU Whitten Oval.

Jong has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at the Bulldogs until at least the end of the 2020 season.

“I’ve obviously been here for a little while now, so it was a pretty easy decision when I thought about all the support I’ve had here and all the relationships I have,” Jong said.

“The way we strung a few wins together, especially at the back-end of the year, and the way we were playing together and gelling, it seems like there are bigger and better things to come.

“I’m very excited to stay with the Dogs.”

Jong has played 61 games since joining the Club in 2011 via the AFL Rookie Draft (pick nine).

The 25-year-old played 10 games in 2018 as he made a return from a knee reconstruction.

He broke his collarbone in Round 15 but returned to finish out the season by playing three of the last four matches.

“Lin is a much-loved and respected player at the Bulldogs, and we’re delighted he has signed on for another two years,” said Bulldogs General Manager of List and Recruiting, Sam Power.

“Lin has had his challenges with injuries over the past few seasons, but he showed some terrific form toward the back-end of the season and we think his best footy is still ahead of him.”

Jong joins teammates Dale Morris, Billy Gowers, Fergus Greene and Roarke Smith as the most recent players to extend their stay at VU Whitten Oval.
