The Footscray Bulldogs and Box Hill Hawks have played out a thrilling draw at the MCG, this Sunday afternoon.

An early goal from Lukas Webb saw the Dogs take control of the game early, before a powerful Box Hill outfit dominated the scoreboard in the third term. An impressive start to the final quarter looked promising for the ‘Scray, however an inability to capitalise on opportunities proved costly, ultimately ending in a draw.

Defender Bailey Williams continued to push his case for a senior recall, collecting 31 disposals, nine marks and ten rebound 50’s, while VFL captain Josh Prudden enjoyed his best game of the 2019 season, amassing 21 disposals, three inside 50’s and two marks.

Emerging defender Laitham Vandermeer (22 disposals, seven marks, six inside 50’s) showed impressive signs in his third game for the Club, while Pat Lipinski was dominant in the midfield and forward line, taking nine marks and laying five tackles.

In his first game for the Bulldogs, Kyle Dunkley booted three goals and took two marks, while Tory Dickson also kicked three majors and grabbed an impressive eight marks.

The Footscray Bulldogs will return home to VU Whitten Oval next Saturday afternoon to face the Werribee Tigers at 12pm, before the Western Bulldogs AFL match against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.
