Bulldogs shortlisted for Mumbrella Sports Marketing award

Bulldogs to run out Towards Zero The Bulldogs have partnered with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to support Towards Zero, Victoria's plan for a future free of deaths and serious injuries on Victorian roads. Learn more about the initiative and and why each of the selected 22 players will run out with the zero on their backs for Sunday's Round 19 match at Mars Stadium.

The Western Bulldogs have been short listed for the 2019 Mumbrella Sports Marketing Awards, for their ‘Towards Zero’ match-day integration in partnership with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

Nominated in the ‘Best Cause-Related Sports Campaign’ category, the Club’s and TAC’s campaign has been nominated alongside Vic Health’s women’s health promotion campaign “This Girl Can”; the National Rugby League ‘Out For Blood’ donor campaign with the Australian Red Cross; and Sport Australia’s ‘Move it Aus’ physical activity campaign.

Centred around the Round 19, 2018 match day at Ballarat’s Mars Stadium, the activation saw the Club and TAC join together to send a strong message about road safety and Victoria’s plan for a future free of deaths and serious injuries on the state’s roads.

A highlight of the campaign, was each of the 22 selected Bulldogs players running out in guernseys emblazoned with zero on the back, reinforcing the message that zero is the only acceptable number of deaths on Victoria’s road.

The campaign also included a bespoke digital advertising across social media and club owned digital platforms; a match-day broadcast integration with Channel Seven; local media and stakeholder engagement in Ballarat, across the Ballarat Football and Netball League and at Mars Stadium; and a highway driver pit-stop at McDonalds Ballan on the Western Highway for travelling fans.

The awards celebrate the best work of businesses, teams and agencies that deliver outstanding work and results on behalf of sport brands.
