Three Western Bulldogs players have been named in the 40-man squad for the 2019 Virgin Australia AFL All Australian Team. 

Vice-captain Marcus Bontempelli and fellow midfield stars Josh Dunkley and Jack Macrae have been named in the squad. 

Bontempelli was an All Australian in 2016, while Dunkley and Macrae would be first-time selections if they make the cut this year.

All three have had outstanding seasons.

The All Australian selection panel is comprised of Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Steve Hocking, Glen Jakovich, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.

The team will be announced on Wednesday.
