Western Bulldogs young guns Michael Sellwood and Cooper Hynes have each put pen to paper on two-year contract extensions.
The new deals will see Sellwood remain in red, white and blue until at least the end of 2028, while Hynes will stay a Bulldog until at least the end of 2029.
Sellwood arrived at the Kennel via last year’s Mid-Season Rookie Draft, playing a key role in the 2025 VFL Premiership.
Since his debut in Opening Round against Brisbane, the 22-year-old has played every match of the 2026 AFL campaign.
Hynes was selected with Pick 20 in the 2024 National Draft and has played 20 games since his debut in Round 5 last year.
The 20-year-old was also named the Round 13 Telstra Rising Star nominee following a career-high 21 disposals and 560 metres gained in the three-point victory over Hawthorn.
Executive Manager – Men’s Football, Sam Power was pleased to have the pair remain at the Bulldogs.
“Both Michael and Cooper have had really exciting starts to the year, beginning to find consistency at AFL level.” Power said.
“As a defender, Michael has played some critical roles on some of the best small forwards in the competition, impacting with his attack on the ball both in the air and on the ground.
“Cooper has recently moved onto the wing, covering the ground well and using his football IQ to make good decisions, rewarded with a Rising Star nomination a fortnight ago.
“The pair are an important part of the Club’s future and we’re thrilled to have them remain at the Club into the future.”
