The Western Bulldogs and Hop Nation have teamed up to launch ‘Footscray Lager’, a limited-edition beer honouring the West.

Both born and raised in the West, the two Footscray institutions have created a crisp, sessionable brew, locally made and inspired by the community they proudly call home.

Hop Nation Founder and General Manager Sam Hambour said the collaboration was about capturing the connection between Club and community.

“We wanted to brew something that felt like a true crossover - a beer that Bulldogs fans could crack open and feel part of the Club’s story,” Hambour said.

“The Bulldogs have a strong community spirit, which is exactly what we try to brew into everything we do at Hop Nation. Footscray Lager is our way of capturing that connection between the Club, the suburb and the people who show up every week.

“Hop Nation and the Western Bulldogs share a deep sense of western pride - no pretension, just a love of bringing people together. Footscray Lager puts that partnership into a can.”

Kon Karavias, Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer at the Bulldogs, said the Club was delighted to lend its name to a brew that helps celebrate what makes the western suburbs special.

“Having our very own ‘Footscray Lager’ that celebrates the place we’ve called home for more than a century and can help bring our fans together is really exciting,” Karavias said.

“We love our partnership with Hop Nation and know that our Bulldogs fans will love this exceptional brew."

Cans will be available online and also at Hop Nation’s Taproom in Footscray.

It will also be available on tap at Hop Nation’s Footscray Taproom from Thursday 9 July.
