L-R: Sarah Sansonetti, Jemima Wrigley, Ellie Bishop, Jorja Livingstone

The individual efforts of four Western Bulldogs players have been recognised in the 2026 VFLW Team of the Year squad.

Sarah Sansonetti, Jemima Wrigley and Ellie Bishop have been named in the squad of 42, as has Jorja Livingstone who played eight VFLW games in the red, white and blue before signing with Melbourne AFLW.

Sansonetti, Wrigley and Bishop played every match of the home-and-away season.

Sansonetti thrived in her first year as skipper, averaging 13.5 disposals, 7.9 intercepts and 3.6 marks in the backline.

Wrigley’s debut Dogs’ campaign was strong, with an average of 16.4 disposals, 5.7 tackles and 5.4 intercepts.

Bishop was impactful too, averaging 21.3 disposals (9.9 contested) while booting three goals.

Players must have played a minimum of eight home and away matches this season to be considered for selection.

The final team of 21 players will be revealed at the 2026 VFL and VFLW Awards on Monday 14 September.

The Awards will be streamed live and free via AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App from 7pm.
