Emerging key forward Emma McDonald has signed a three-year contract extension to remain at the Western Bulldogs. 

The deal will see the former Pick 8 in the red, white and blue until at least the end of the 2029 NAB AFLW season.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakout game in the win over the Swans on Saturday, booting three goals in the final quarter as the Dogs surged home. 

McDonald has played 15 games since her debut in Round 1 last year and has kicked the fourth-most goals in the competition across anyone's last 10 appearances.

“Emma is already stamping herself as one of the most imposing key forwards in the league, highlighted by her career-best game on the weekend against Sydney,” AFLW List Manager Dan Fisher said.

“Her presence, competitiveness and athleticism makes her teammates walk taller, which is a pretty rare feature for a 20-year-old.

“We love the way she flies for marks, sticks them and finishes off her work in front of goals, and we’re so excited to build around someone of her talent and character.

McDonald joins Amaia Wain and Dom Carruthers to have committed to Mission Whitten Oval in recent weeks.
