LAST TIME WE MET
Round 12, 2025
St Kilda 4.3 (27) def. by Western Bulldogs 10.12 (72)
The Dogs were cool, calm and collected on a hot day at RSEA Park, finishing the match strong to run out 45-point winners.
In what was an impressively even performance from all the Dogs players, Sarah Poustie stood out with 19 disposals and six clearances to keep her side ahead, while Ellie Blackburn had 18 disposals, a game-high 632 metres gained and snagged a goal.
The Western Bulldogs capitalised on the undermanned Saints, raising their inside 50s from nine in the first quarter to 25 by half-time, and converting three crafty goals in the second term.
THE LINE-UPS
WHAT IT MEANS
The Bulldogs continue to impress this year and overcame a valiant Port Adelaide side in round seven. Tam Hyett’s side are now sitting pretty with a win-loss record of 5-2 heading into the final five weeks of the season. Banking wins across the next fortnight is crucial though, because their final few weeks are pretty tough. It feels as though they’re really building right now, but might still be a superstar or two short from really challenging at the pointy end this season. They’ve no doubt been one of the big improvers in 2026.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Heidi Woodley was unreal last week against the Power, kicking a game-high four goals from 18 disposals. The 21-year-old has really popped this season under Tam Hyett, averaging career-high numbers for disposals, score involvements, marks, inside 50s and goals. She’s such a key part of this new brigade of Bulldogs leading the way.Â
