Western Bulldogs defender Libby Birch has requested a trade to the Melbourne Football Club.

The Bulldogs will begin discussions with Melbourne during the sign and trade period, with a view to only facilitating the request if a deal satisfying the Bulldogs can be reached, given it is the Club’s strong preference to retain Birch.

Birch has been a Bulldogs player since the first season of AFLW, and has played 22 games in her career so far.
