The Western Bulldogs have today confirmed that Declan Hamilton has not been offered a contract for the 2018 AFL season.

Hamilton was taken with the 39th pick in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and played 58 VFL games over three seasons, averaging 16 disposals per game and kicking 40 goals.

The 21-year-old was also a member of Footscray’s 2016 VFL premiership team.

“It's a credit to Declan how he handled the transition from South Australia at the end of 2014,” Western Bulldogs List Manager Jason McCartney said.

“We’d like to thank Declan for his service to the Club, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Hamilton joins Josh Prudden in departing VU Whitten Oval this offseason.

The Bulldogs have until Tuesday October 31 to lodge their initial 2018 playing list to the AFL.
