After finishing 2016 in the forward line, this season saw Zaine Cordy return to the backline.

In his third year with the Bulldogs, Cordy played 19 games and was given the task of playing on some of the AFL's premier key forwards.

In an injury free season, he was ranked second behind Easton Wood for intercept possessions, averaging 4.7 per game, and had an average disposal efficiency of 84.6%, the second highest at the Club.

Stat that mattered:

Cordy was ranked in the top 20 in the competition for total one-percenters in 2017.

What they said:

"It was a pretty strong season. It was the first year I’ve had where I haven’t had any injuries.”

“I ended up playing 19 games, which is fairly good for me. I had a pretty good season and hopefully I can build on it next year."
