Season in short

Played just the four AFL games this season after ten last year, although made the most of his opportunities when in the side, registering career highs in a number of areas including average disposals, contested possessions, metres gained and score involvements.

Spent the majority of his time forward in games against the Lions, North Melbourne and the Crows before picking up 15 touches and six marks against the Demons in round eight playing predominantly on a wing.

Played 17 games in the VFL and was a member of Footcray’s premiership winning side where he lurked as a genuine threat in the forward half, generating 37 shots on goal for 20 majors on the season.

Still lightly framed and will benefit from another preseason in the gym.

The stat mattered

Was Footscray’s second leading goal scorer for the 2016 season.

What they said

“It was a bit of an inconsistent season for myself, I would have liked to have played a few more [AFL] games but obviously the team had a great year winning two premierships.

“[I’ll focus on] getting fitter and stronger and work on a few technical skills like marking and contested ball which are probably my two biggest areas of improvement so I’ll be working on them in the next preseason.”

Gram of the year
