Western Bulldogs midfielders Marcus Bontempelli and Jack Macrae have finished equal eighth in the 2019 Brownlow Medal count.

The duo finished with 22 votes each.

Fremantle’s Nathan Fyfe won the Brownlow Medal with 33 votes, ahead of Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield (27) in second and Brisbane’s Lachie Neale and Carlton’s Patrick Cripps (both 26) in equal third.

Bontempelli was adjudged best afield by the umpires in five games - against Sydney (round one), Gold Coast (round three), Port Adelaide (round 15), Fremantle (round 19) and Brisbane Lions (round 20).
