Easton Wood headlines the Western Bulldogs three inclusions ahead of Saturday’s clash against Carlton, set to play his first senior game since round three.

The defender will return to the field alongside Liam Jones and Mark Austin who have also been recalled to assume key posts at either end of the ground.

Finding form in the VFL recently, Wood will inject plenty of run and rebound out of the Bulldogs back half.

“Easton Wood is [an] inclusion for us after a lengthy spell in the VFL coming back from a hamstring injury,” Assistant Coach Rohan Smith said.

“He showed good form last week against Collingwood in the VFL and he deserves his spot.”

Watch Easton Wood speak exclusively to BulldogsTV about his road back from injury to the senior side.

Some size will also be added to the forward line through Liam Jones, after spending last week on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Ranked third on the Bulldogs’ goal kicking list this season, the 22-year-old has been a valuable contributor as a tall marking forward.

“Liam Jones is also on the bench this week, just after that ankle injury, coming back after one week,” he said.

Strong VFL form has earned Austin his recall, named in Williamstown’s best three times in the past month.

“An in for us this week is Mark Austin for his fourth game for the year, he had terrific VFL form, so really he really deserves his spot,” he said.

“[We’re] looking forward to seeing him do some defensive work.”

The Western Bulldogs take on Carlton on Saturday 10 August 2013 at Etihad Stadium, with the first bounce scheduled for 4:40pm.
