Western Bulldogs' Development Coach Chris Maple casts his eye over how the Bulldogs listed players fared in the VFL win last week against Collingwood.
Josh Prudden: Predominantly played around Luke Ball, Alex Fasolo, guys like that and had 24 possessions and used the ball really well by foot. He really showed a lot of composure but just his willingness to win the footy was fantastic for a first year player.
Fletcher Roberts: Roberts played back for most of the day and was very, very solid as a defender. Read the flight of the ball well and took a lot of intercept marks. Then went forward and had an impact as well in the last quarter.
Lukas Markovic: He was probably the best player for the day. Just defended really well, closed the exits down and he used the ball well. It was just an outstanding defensive game.
Tom Campbell: Continued to rotate between playing forward and ruck. Dominated when he was in the ruck and his follow up work was excellent. We are starting to see Tom mark the ball more as a forward, which is good. His workrate is pretty good as well.
Lachie Hunter: He had 18 possessions and kicked two goals and did really well with his forward pressure and was involved in a lot of scoring chains in the last quarter.
Nathan Hrovat: He had 29 possessions with ten in the last quarter. He used the ball well and again was one of the main driving forces in scoring chains for Williamstown and probably was a major part of why they won.
Daniel Pearce: Pearce started strongly but suffered a slight injury in a tackle during the first quarter. He should be available to play for Williamstown next week.
Development Game:
Alex Greenwood: He was on limited game time but did what he needed to do in his first game back. He will be better for the run.
