With 94 career senior games between them, Addison and Howard bring seasoned bodies to the Bulldogs’ round five lineup that ranked 16th in average games played, above only the two expansion sides. West Coast rank seventh in this category.
Addison’s return to form in the VFL has seen him continue to hone his craft as a defensive forward, a position he made his own last year after predominantly playing as a defender.
Restricted to the sidelines with a hamstring injury early in the season, the 25-year-old has worked hard to regain match fitness, playing two games for Williamstown and is now looking to make an impact at senior level.
Howard is also eager to add to his senior tally, providing some much needed run on the Bulldogs’ wing to contend with the larger playing surface of Patersons Stadium.
His penetrating kick and elite endurance put him in good stead to have a successful return to senior football.
Brett Goodes (suspension) and Patrick Veszpremi (omitted) allow for Addison and Howard to come into the side, while Lukas Markovic and Daniel Pearce have been named as emergencies.
