Gabby Newton has been recognised for her performance in Saturday’s narrow loss to West Coast, polling three coaches’ votes in the 2020 AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year award.

Newton managed 16 disposals, five marks and a game-high 10 tackles in Round 4.

Since debuting in the season opening win against St Kilda, she has averaged 13 touches from her four matches.

She was also judged among the Bulldogs’ best on ground, nominated for the NAB Rising Star award.

Skipper Ellie Blackburn received one vote for her efforts, bringing her total to 14 this season.
