The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF) will launch a series of online webinars in the coming weeks, to help keep the community healthy and connected.

Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, the WBCF, in consultation with partners and community members, was forced to postpone all of its programs.

However, there has been a strong interest for the Foundation and its partners to increase its reach and engagement in the digital space.

The delivery of online webinars forms a key element of a broader digital strategy which will enable the Foundation to continue to meaningfully engage and support the community throughout the coronavirus crisis and beyond.

While not replacing any of the flagship programs such as Sons of the West or the Youth Leadership Project, the webinars will offer key information and resources across a variety of topics including mental health, nutrition and resilience.

The webinars will be hosted by Foundation General Manager Kashif Bouns, and will feature guests including key club personnel, renowned experts, celebrities, players and representatives from our partner organisations and the broader community.

The sessions will be delivered free of charge and will be made accessible for Western Bulldogs fans, members, program participants past and present, and the wider community.

A focus will also be placed on delivering more meaningful content via the Foundation’s social media platforms, and over time will see some programs delivered in an online environment.

“Western Victoria is a very resilient community.  The COVID-19 outbreak has hit us all hard, however we’re hopeful this digital shift will enable us to translate our expertise in traditional community engagement into an online environment,” Bouns said.

“We will continue to work with our partners to help build a community where people are at their best, no matter their age, gender or religion.”
