Three Western Bulldogs have been recognised, with potential for to come, as esteemed football journalist Mike Sheahan has revealed the first stage of his top 50 players list.

Announcing players ranked 31 to 50 in Wednesday's Herald Sun, Tom Liberatore (31st), Will Minson (37th) and Robert Murphy (45th) all featured.

With the remaining top 30 to be revealed over the coming days, the Dogs trio have earned plaudits for their outstanding on-field contributions this season.

Minson and Liberatore have been named for the first time in their careers, while Murphy’s best post-season standing was 37th overall in 2005.

The three players occupied places second, third and fourth in the Club's best and fairest vote count held in early September.

The Bulldogs are only joined by the 2013 Premiers Hawthorn to have three players represented so far, while six teams are yet to have any player included – namely Collingwood, Essendon, Sydney, Gold Coast, GWS Giants and Melbourne.

All-Australian midfielder, and 2013 Sutton Medallist, Ryan Griffen is expected to feature inside Sheahan's top 30 players as they are revealed later this week. 

In 2012 the Bulldogs had one sole representative in Sheahan’s top 50 players in Griffen who came in at number 46.
