Over 100 refugee and migrant students showed their wares with a tennis racket in hand at Melbourne Park last week, as part of the Western Bulldogs CALDplay Sports Program.

The session marked the conclusion of a five week introductory tennis program, facilitated by the Bulldogs alongside Tennis Victoria, Sunshine Park and Werribee Centrals Tennis Club.

Students from Footscray, St Albans, Sunshine, Werribee and Yarraville were taken on a behind the scenes guided tour of the facilities and competed in a round robin tennis tournament on the famous blue Melbourne Park courts.

The CALDplay Sports Program aims to provide opportunities for western region young people and adults to engage in regular physical activity and create connections with their local community.

The Bulldogs would like to recognise Tennis Victoria, Sunshine Park and Werribee Centrals Tennis Clubs for their ongoing support of the clubs community engagement initiatives.
