An inspirational effort from Marcus Bontempelli has seen the Western Bulldogs’ skipper nominated for the Rebel Mark of the Year (MOTY).

Bontempelli took two ‘back with the flight’ marks in a best-on-ground performance in Thursday night’s 28-point win against the Sydney Swans at the SCG.

It was the first of these second quarter grabs – contested against Isaac Heeney – which is among the three MOTY nominees for Round 4.

Bontempelli has been nominated alongside two grabs by Brisbane Lions players – Charlie Cameron and Lincoln McCarthy.

The fan-voted award sees the AFL will nominate three marks for public voting for the Rebel Mark of the Year at the end of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

All members of the public that vote and pick a weekly winner go into the draw to win $10,000.

Voting is now open at markoftheyear.afl and closes on Wednesday night, ahead of Round 5.
