It’s been a long, cold and difficult winter for Victorians, particularly for those in metropolitan Melbourne.

Two waves of coronavirus sent us back into our homes, limited our movement and hindered our ability to connect in all the ways we’ve become so accustomed to.

Life in lockdown has led to feelings of isolation, frustration and a lack of motivation.  It has forced us to maintain social connection in different ways.

The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation has built its reputation on servicing thousands of people in Melbourne’s and Victoria’s west every year, through a wide range of impactful programs.

It continued to do so throughout 2020, even though the programs were delivered online.

To keep the community connected into the near future, the Foundation, supported by its major partner WorkSafe, has launched Connecting the West - a range of free initiatives aimed at bringing people together in new ways, as we continue to live with the virus.

Whether you are interested in learning how to digitally connect with others, looking for inspiration from keynote webinar speakers, getting active at home, improving your health and wellbeing, gaining new experiences or becoming more involved in your local community, we have it all covered!

“At the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, we are focused on building strong partnerships within our community,” said the Foundation’s General Manager, Kashif Bouns.

“The Connecting the West campaign utilises the powerful brand of the Club to not only reach audiences across the west of Melbourne and Victoria, but connect them with each other and vital services from our partners, in the hope that this can help overcome social isolation during these uncertain times.

“We would like to thank the 70-plus partners who have so far expressed their interest in being a part of this community building initiative.”
