AFLW: Practice match squad revealed

Western Bulldogs AFLW have named their squad of 26 players ahead of Saturday afternoon’s first official practice match

The AFLW Bulldogs have named their squad of 26 players ahead of Saturday afternoon’s first official practice match against Richmond at the Swinburne Centre.

Four of the Club’s off-season acquisitions, Katie Lynch, Jess Fitzgerald, Sarah Hartwig and Isabelle Pritchard, will pull on the red, white and blue for the first time.

Issy Grant will also feature in her first AFLW hit-out since last year’s informal match simulation.

Bonnie Toogood and Ange Gogos return having recovered from PCL and MCL injuries respectively, both of which were sustained late in the 2020 season.

Reigning best-and-fairest winner and AFLW Rising Star Izzy Huntington has also been selected, alongside experienced heads Ellie Blackburn, Lauren Spark and Kirsty Lamb.

The match will be closed to the public, with updates available via the Western Bulldogs AFLW social media channels.

The Bulldogs will have a week off before travelling to RSEA Park on Friday, January 29 for their season opener against St Kilda under lights.
