Last time they met: W.B. (2.0 12) def. by Melbourne (4.8 32), Round 2, 2020 at VU Whitten Oval

Despite the best efforts of captain Ellie Blackburn and on-baller Kirsty Lamb, Melbourne was too strong for the AFLW Bulldogs in the 10th Hampson-Hardeman Cup battle. With just nine points separating the two sides at the first break thanks to a Dee Berry goal, Melbourne was quick to attack after that, putting the Dogs’ defence under enormous pressure in wet conditions. Bonnie Toogood (10 disposals, two marks) slotted a consolation goal late, while Naomi Ferres (14 disposals), Blackburn (13, six tackles) and Lamb (11, five tackles) led the stats sheets.
