Tim English had a little laugh after a goal in the third term on Friday afternoon.

The perfect pass was delivered by Pat Lipinski.

English didn’t have to break stride on the lead. He went back and split the middle with limited fuss, putting the Western Bulldogs in front by 10 goals against North Melbourne.

But the 50-gamer had an inside joke rolling with Lipinski, who he shares a house with alongside Aaron Naughton.

“I remember last year in the hub, I hit a couple of balls to (Pat) out of the ruck and Bevo made a comment about did we tee it up in the kitchen, or something,” English said.

“So (Pat) passed it to me and came at me with a bit of James Harden ‘stir the pot’ so I thought I’d join in.”

English is clearly enjoying his footy – and the addition of experienced big man Stef Martin has made his life easier.

He’s been able to push forward and have an impact alongside 10-goal hero Josh Bruce and Aaron Naughton, who has also enjoyed a strong start to 2021.

“Having Stef come in over the trade period has allowed me to forward a little bit more and I get to spend a lot of time alongside Naughts and Brucey,” he said.

“I’m loving learning the craft down there.

“I think if I can use my strengths to my advantage down there I should be able to contribute something.”
