Footscray will play at least two more games in their run home, with the AFL now targeting a 12-game home-and-away VFL season.

The VFL season had been recently cut from 19 games to 14 games, with the decision to further shorten the season due to COVID-19 and extended lockdowns in NSW and Queensland announced by the AFL last night.

The Bulldogs will have a bye this weekend, having played 10 matches so far.

They are one of 13 teams to have completed 10 games, and are the only team to remain undefeated at this point of the season.

The AFL also confirmed dates for the 2021 VFL Finals Series, which will commence on Saturday 28 August.

A top-eight finals structure will be played, before the VFL Grand Final on Sunday 19 September at Marvel Stadium.
