Western Bulldogs key forward Aaron Naughton has polled eight votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

The 22-year-old was one of the Bulldogs’ best in the 17-point loss to Port Adelaide, finishing with a game-high four-goal haul from 15 disposals, six marks and eight score involvements.

Stand-in skipper Jack Macrae was the only other Bulldog to poll.

He received two votes for his performance, which included 32 touches, six marks, 10 clearances and 543 metres gained.

Carlton’s Patrick Cripps is the overall leader, with 53 votes after eight rounds.
