Western Bulldogs veteran defender Dale Morris has been nominated for the AFL Players Association’s Most Courageous Player.

Morris has been nominated by his teammates as the Club’s most courageous and will compete for the award alongside one nominee from each AFL club.

The award will be presented at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday night.

Morris reached his 200-game milestone in 2015 in his 11th season at the Kennel.

He suffered a pectoral injury in round three against Hawthorn and spent the next eight weeks on the sidelinese.

His importance was highlighted when the 32-year-old returned in round 13 and the Dogs lost only three games for the remainder of the home and away season.

The reliable defender maintained his ability to shut down both tall and small opponents, putting his teammates’ needs always before his own.

Morris averaged 11 disposals, four marks and two tackles this season, he finished sixth in the league for effective disposal percentage per game and 20th for one percenters per game.
