Footscray will be looking to keep their top four hopes alive when they take on Essendon under lights at Victoria University Whitten Oval on Friday night.

The Dogs are fresh off of a 99-point-win over Sandringham last week and will welcome back promising forward Patrick Lipinski who’s been named to play his first match since injuring his collarbone in round two.

Lipinski was taken with #28th pick of the 2016 NAB AFL Draft, and was averaging 14 disposals, five marks and two goals per contest before his injury.

Currently sitting in sixth place on the VFL ladder, Footscray are equal on points with the seventh placed Bombers, who’re coming off a 38-point win over North Ballarat.
