The Western Bulldogs Football Club have informed Ryan Gardner, Lachie McNeil and Nick Coffield they will not be offered contracts for the 2027 season.

Gardner came to the Club during the 2019 AFL Mid-Season Draft, making his debut for the Bulldogs just a week after being drafted. The 29-year-old played 58 games at senior level, as well as winning a VFL Premiership with Footscray in 2025.

McNeil joined the Bulldogs via Pick 11 in the 2020 AFL Rookie Draft, playing 86 games during six seasons at the Kennel, kicking 47 goals.

Coffield crossed from St Kilda in 2023 and made 25 appearances across three seasons in the red, white and blue. The defender was also part of the 2025 VFL Premiership winning side.

Bulldogs Executive Manager Men’s Football Sam Power thanked the trio for their contributions to the football club.

“All three players have made fantastic contributions to the Western Bulldogs as dedicated members of our playing group,” Power said.

“We wish them all the best for the future and they will always be welcome back at the Bulldogs.”
