The Western Bulldogs would like to provide clarity regarding the Bulldogs Community Children’s Centre located at Whitten Oval.

The Club, in partnership with Maribyrnong City Council, has been working towards renewal of the headlease which would provide certainty regarding the continuation of childcare services at the Whitten Oval site.

The Club’s mandate for this site is to provide the best possible childcare environment for children and their families, with the updated headlease terms helping to ensure this outcome is achieved.

As part of this process, the Club is committed to achieving the following key community benefits:

  • The provision of ongoing exemplary early childhood care and education;
  • A reduction in fees to support affordability for current and future families availing of the Bulldogs Community Children’s Centre’s services;
  • An increase in service hours provision to provide additional flexibility for families;
  • Transformational facility upgrades for the existing childcare site, including improved, contemporary educational and play spaces; and
  • An enhanced commitment to environmentally sustainable infrastructure.

No decision has yet been made on the future childcare provider at the Whitten Oval site. We understand that any uncertainty about continuity of care can cause concern for parents so we would like to reassure parents that no disruption to service of any kind is contemplated.

Commitment to community and its best interests is, and has been, a core value of the Club for many years and has been practically demonstrated across a range of projects. We understand that this centre provides an essential and valued service for the Footscray area and we are absolutely committed to ensuring this is maintained and improved for years to come.

The Club welcomes any enquiries or feedback regarding the Bulldogs Community Children’s Centre to be sent to feedback@westernbulldogs.com.au. You can also register for updates regarding the project by providing your details via the below form.
