A spectacular artwork that immortalises the recently selected 25 Greatest Bulldogs will be unveiled at the 2025 Charles Sutton Medal ceremony.
The historic list was chosen as part of this year's celebrations to mark a century since the Bulldogs joined the VFL/AFL, with an expert panel selecting the 25 greatest exponents of the red, white and blue over the past 100 years.
The artwork has been created by Jamie Cooper, a renowned artist who has worked with sporting clubs across the world to create unique commemorative pieces. A former AFL player, Cooper is also responsible for the iconic Bulldogs Team of the Century painting that hangs proudly at Mission Whitten Oval.
The artwork will be unveiled for the first time at Crown Palladium as part of the Charles Sutton Medal ceremony on Wednesday 1st October.
All 25 players have been depicted in a dressing room scene that spans every era of the past century, creating wonderfully evocative combinations and celebrating the greatest moments of the Club's history.
The criteria for the list is defined as: "Those who have represented the red, white and blue with irrefutable distinction on the field and made the most considerable positive impact on the Club's history. Players of exceptional ability who have achieved some of the game's greatest accolades, they have also made the Club what it is today, setting standards that will always be aspired to, embodying the Bulldogs' spirit and inspiring fans to dream big and stand proud."
While the list of 25 was selected without rank, a top five was selected in order and revealed as part of July's Centenary Gala at Mission Whitten Oval. Ted Whitten was ultimately declared the greatest Bulldog ahead of Marcus Bontempelli, with Chris Grant (#3), Gary Dempsey (#4) and Doug Hawkins (#5) rounding out the top five.
Bontempelli, Tom Liberatore and Ellie Blackburn are the active players included included in the list, with Allan Hopkins the earliest representative having debuted in the VFA in 1923.
The gala ceremony will also feature an address from senior coach Luke Beveridge and Club President Kylie Watson-Wheeler and will culminate with the awarding of the Charles Sutton Medal for the Club’s fairest and best player of the year.
Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal and premium beverages during the ceremony as well as live entertainment and a silent auction and raffle. Tickets are priced at $280 for members and $300 for non-members - CLICK HERE to purchase now.
