It was another consistent campaign for the Bulldogs’ big man Tim English.
The 28-year-old played every match of the home and away season, enjoying career-best averages in disposals (17.8), hit-outs (30.3) and clearances (3.8).
Despite an injury-interrupted pre-season, English was cleared to play in the Dogs’ AAMI Community Series win over Hawthorn, where he collected 31 hit-outs, 14 disposals and seven marks.
That outing all but set him up for the season to come, with his impact felt in most, if not all, games.
He registered 40 hit-outs in Round 4 against Fremantle, before putting on a well-rounded performance in Round 8 against Port Adelaide with 27 disposals, 30 hit-outs and three goals.
His Round 10 goal assist wowed the Bulldogs faithful at Marvel Stadium, delivering a no-look tap to Tom Liberatore in the goal square who snapped truly.
A week later he managed 48 hit-outs and a goal against the Cats, heading into the mid-season bye full of confidence.
His second half of the season was just as strong, continuing to dominate in the middle while providing first use to his on-ball brigade.
The West Australian brought up his 150th career match in style, enjoying a 93-point win over Essendon, before rounding out his year with another 40 hit-outs against Fremantle in the final game of the season.
If English’s 2025 consistency is anything to go by, he could be a sneaky chance for his maiden medal next Wednesday night.
