The Footscray Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season, after Sydney delivered a dominant second-half performance.

Quarter one burst onto the scoreboard for the ‘Scray, profiting off the breeze.

Will Darcy snapped an early major, Connor Smith adding another, and Zak Walker capping off a commanding start to lead the Swans by 12 into the first break.

Footscray faced a 10-goal Sydney onslaught in quarter two.

Jack Billings attempted to spark some life into the side, with a team goal, before the Swans were once again able to hit the scoreboard with ease.

The Bulldogs came out firing for the third quarter.

With two quick goals for Luca Muratore, Zak Walker took his second and Laird Ramshaw put his name on the board.

Wrestling back the momentum to outscore the Swans four goals to two, Footscray positioned themselves well heading into the last quarter.

An early burst, in the final term highlighted by Connor Smith’s second goal of the day, had Footscray out of the blocks with intent.

However, the Dogs couldn't sustain the pressure with the Swans consistently having the answers, cancelling out momentum at every turn.

Sydney surged clear with a dominant, high-scoring quarter to seal a 59-point victory over the Bulldogs.

Cooper Craig-Peters had his hands all over the ball, stacking up 36 disposals and 22 contested possessions, showing composure through the midfield.

Jack Billings totalled 30 disposals and one major, moving the ball well in the forward 50.

Luca Muratore was the top goal scorer, taking home three goals. While Zak Walker, Connor Smith and Will Darcy each finished with two.

Luke Cleary and Nick Coffield stood tall in defence with 10 and 13 intercepts respectively.

Footscray will travel next Saturday to face the Southport Sharks, at Fankhauser Reserve.
