The Western Bulldogs have suffered their third consecutive AFLW defeat, going down to Fremantle by three goals at Fremantle Oval this afternoon.

Little separated the teams for much of the contest, before the Dockers kicked away in the latter stages of the final term after a spirited performance from the Bulldogs.

After a slow start on the scoreboard from both sides, the Dockers kicked two goals late in the first term.

But the Bulldogs fought back with a sensational team goal involving Kim Rennie, Monique Conti and Aisling Utri at the start of the second term, and trailed by just a point at the major break.

The Dockers led by a goal at the final change, and despite an early goal to the Dogs, the hosts ran away with the result.

Monique Conti starred for the Dogs with 20 disposals and six clearances, while co-captain Katie Brennan was also impressive with 18 touches and an exceptional third-quarter goal.

Izzy Huntington and Brooke Lochland each kicked a goal in their respective returns from injury.

With two matches to go, the result leaves the Dogs all but out of contention for a finals berth and a tilt at defending their 2018 premiership title.
