Fox Footy will again be offering a Hindi broadcast of this Saturday’s Cultural Heritage Series match between the Western Bulldogs and Richmond, making the game even more accessible.

Rajbir Ghuman and Harbir Singh Kang will bring the match to life for Hindi-speaking audiences through their commentary, with key match graphics also presented in language.

Both commentators bring extensive experience to the call, having previously worked on matches with the National Ethnic & Multicultural Broadcasters Council radio channels and becoming passionate AFL fans since moving to Australia.

The alternate broadcast will be available via Fox Footy 503 and Kayo Sports, and also on demand on both platforms post-game.

Earlier this month, the AFL launched a long-term strategy to grow Australian Football in India at the MCG, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, AFL CEO Andrew Dillon and Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains in attendance. 

Bains has spoken of the Bulldogs' ambition to foster connections with the Indian community through the western corridor of Victoria and beyond, building on the work of the Club's Community Foundation, which delivers many of its programs in-language. 

The AFL says its strategy will be delivered through a staged, community-first approach, working alongside local partners to grow participation and build sustainable pathways to the game, with an ambition to increase participation in India to more than 100,000 registered participants over the coming years.

The strategy also supports local initiatives to strengthen the AFL’s engagement with the Australian Indian community including the Cultural Heritage Series, AFL Khel, AFL Hindi broadcasts, the Next Generation Academy and the AFL Community and School Connect program.
