The Western Bulldogs are one of six clubs to experience double-digit growth in their 2016 membership numbers according to figures released by the AFL today.

The Dogs’ record total of 40,081 members was 12% up on last season, the fourth highest increase in the League behind St.Kilda, Sydney, Geelong and Greater Western Sydney.

It was the second season running that the Bulldogs have recorded double-digit growth after adding 3684 members from season 2014 to season 2015, an 11.6% rise.

A league record 875,197 people were a member of an AFL Club this season, 39,061 more than last season, and the Bulldogs were one of 11 clubs to break their all-time membership record.

Prior to 2016, the Western Bulldogs’ previous membership record was 36,213 set in 2015.
