The Western Bulldogs had four players feature in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award votes in Friday night’s narrow loss to the Geelong Cats at Metricon Stadium.

Star Cat Patrick Dangerfield was best afield in the eyes of both coaches, earning a perfect 10 votes.

But the Bulldogs had a number of players feature in a strong performance, despite being overrun in the final term.

Lachie Hunter was the pick of the Bulldogs’ performers, collecting six votes for his 27-disposal, one-goal effort.

Skipper Marcus Bontempelli earned two votes after having 14 disposals and 10 tackles, as did defender Caleb Daniel for his 20 disposals and a team-high 422 metres gained.

Hayden Crozier also picked up a vote, with a team-high seven intercepts complementing his 14 disposals at 92.9 per cent efficiency.

Tom Stewart (four votes), Jed Bews (four votes) and Gary Rohan (one vote) rounded out the round.
