Clearance king Tom Liberatore has caught the eyes of both Luke Beveridge and Ken Hinkley, judged best afield for his efforts in Saturday’s 19-point win over Port Adelaide.

Liberatore earned the maximum 10 votes in the 2021 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, registering 27 disposals and a game-high 12 clearances in a dominant midfield display.

Captain Marcus Bontempelli was second-best, polling eight votes for his 26 possessions, two goals and seven inside-50s to propel him into third spot overall.

Aaron Naughton received four votes after slotting four goals, while Adam Treloar (three votes), Alex Keath (two votes) and Caleb Daniel (one vote) were also recognised.
