On Aaron Naughton’s chances of playing...

“I reckon he'll (Naughton) be fine.

“It's amazing that he's okay; once they got him through that initial analysis and investigation of whether or not he damaged anything in his neck and that came up clear – he's bounced out of that pretty well.

“The great thing is that he didn't have any worries concussion-wise. So, he will train and I imagine he's going to play.

On Marcus Bontempelli...

“The skipper should be right. He’s playing a bit sore, but keeps doing it, keeps fronting up.

“The sense is through our medical staff and with Marcus is that he's not doing any more damage.

“I thought he was outstanding last week... he was very, very good.

“If he could do that last week, he's probably going to be a little bit better this week.”

On the challenges faced with player injuries...

“I was just saying to the players, this game builds resilience, ultimately, and it builds reputations from a team and an individual perspective.

“When you reflect back on these times and even your life journey, you think about when there were some challenges along the way and maybe some periods of time where you didn't have it on your terms.

“One of the things that doesn't happen in this game is there's no sympathy.

“I'd say ultimately it doesn't matter or not whether we've got injuries; we've just, together, we've got to seize the opportunity to improve.

“It doesn't matter who it is. There's nothing about age, nothing about games experience.

“It's just this is an opportunity to build resilience and give ourselves every opportunity each week.”

On facing Fremantle this Friday...

“Fremantle are a great challenge because of what they're doing.

“When you think about the composition of Fremantle's team... they've got good talls, they've got (a) really hearty midfield brigade, they've got quick high forwards and backs... all the ingredients are there for them.

“It's a great test for us to get the aerial and ground level contest right.”
