The Western Bulldogs have delivered a commanding performance, defeating Darebin Falcons 14.7 (91) to 2.4 (16) as they continue to push for a VFLW finals spot.
The contest was fiercely fought from the opening bounce, with both midfields competing hard around the ball.
The Bulldogs made the most of their forward-50 entries, applying strong pressure to keep the Falcons' attack at bay and take a narrow lead into quarter-time.
The visitors continued to control territory in the second, adding another two goals while keeping the hosts goalless to hold a reasonable advantage into the main break.
After half-time, the Bulldogs lifted their pressure and began to take control of the contest. Repeat forward 50 entries created further opportunities as they continued to build their scoreboard advantage.
A dominant third quarter saw the Bulldogs pile on three goals, creating an eight-goal margin the Falcons were unable to overcome.
The visitors' pressure and clean ball movement continued to trouble the hosts as the Bulldogs took complete control, restricting the Falcons to just two majors for the match while running out 75-point winners.
Ellie Bishop rose to the top of the Bulldogs' stats with 22 disposals and four score involvements.
Analea McKee kicked an impressive five goals, with Emmy Nekrep and Olivia Jesser scoring three majors each.
VFLW debutant Charlie O’Connor Moreira also slotted her first goal in the red, white and blue.
Head coach Liam Cavanagh was delighted after the win.
“There were some things we were trying to work on, it was really nice to see us get that right,” said Cavanagh.
“The brand that we want to be playing in finals is starting to be more consistent.”
The victory gives the Bulldogs plenty of momentum heading into next week, taking on Tasmania in the last home-and-away match on Saturday morning.
