On how she saw the win:
“We were pretty dominant I felt across the board in the first half, but we just didn’t capitalise on our work.
“I was really happy with the first half, but we’ve probably got a fair bit of room for improvement for the second half.
“Our decision-making with ball in hand wasn’t great in the second half, but I was just pleased to come away with the win.
“(The win) was probably set up in the first half. It was probably a tale of two halves for us – we fought it out in the second half but lacked a bit of polish.”
On whether any changes were made after half-time:
“We were pretty set on holding our contest shape which gives us a good look on offence, but we didn’t make any changes tactically.
“We had De (Berry) go off pretty much straight away in the first quarter, which meant we had to move the magnets a little bit with our rotations.
“Being one down in a pretty physical game – credit to the girls who were happy to play any role.
“We probably asked more of our players when we were down on rotations.”
On her standouts:
“Issy Pritchard was a clear standout. I thought that the work she did in close – she (ended up) with career-highs - the way she was able to finish off her work too.
“The backs held up pretty well too – aerially we were pretty good and brought the ball to ground.
“Elle Bennetts used the ball really well too and gave us a bit of drive across half-back.
“It was a pretty even effort across the board.
“Emma McDonald showed her strengths too, especially in the first-half.”
On facing the reigning premiers next week:
“It doesn’t really change our preparation – we’ve got a few things offensively we’d like to tidy up, but there’s nothing better than coming up against the best.
“It gives you a good understanding of where you’re at.
“I think our girls are ready for the challenge.”
