Senior coach Luke Beveridge addressed this week’s big talking points on Friday morning at VU Whitten Oval, ahead of the Western Bulldogs v GWS elimination final.

Facing the Giants…

“There’s some change in personnel, particularly their forward line. When you consider that Lloyd, Finlayson and Jeremy Cameron didn’t play last time, so that’s significant change down that end. Hopper comes into their midfield, but other than that there’s not considerable change.

We should be able to pick up where we left off. There will be a significant amount of pressure in the game and maybe the game will be different, but we're establishing some cohesion and consistency in some of our team traits.  Hopefully that holds us in good stead.”

NEW DEAL FOR DALE

Tim English v Shane Mumford…

“Every week has just been about graduation for Tim. He does a lot of stuff away from the stoppage and we’ll expect that again. He’ll give us a good contest in there, and he’ll do his best to help our midfielders in there.”

Reaching the finals…

“We’ve definitely reflected on what a monumental achievement it’s been to make the finals and now the slate’s clean and there’s a great opportunity in front of us.”

Tory Dickson…

“Tory was pretty close. Historically it seems like a no brainer, we had to nurse Tory through a couple of games before he had a break against Adelaide. It's another week to get him totally right. If we win, he'll be eligible to come into the side the week after.”

The Bulldog army…

“We'll have great support up there. I know that we'll feel it, we'll see it, we'll hear it and that'll be important for us in foreign territory.”
