The Western Bulldogs and Mission Foods will take their official relationship to at least 15 years, after their partnership was extended this week.

Mission Foods, already the longest serving major sponsor in the Club’s history, will remain Major Partner of the Bulldogs until at least the end of the 2023 season, after agreeing to a three-year extension of their sponsorship.

The Mission logo has sat proudly on the Bulldogs guernsey for the last 12 years.

Juan Gonzalez, President and Chairman and CEO of Mission Foods, said he was delighted to extend the relationship into its 13th year and beyond.

“Over the last 12 years Mission has proudly supported the Western Bulldogs through the good and challenging times, and we continue to feel this alignment particularly over the last six months,” he said.

“With these shared synergies based on community, family and support we couldn’t be prouder to be the Club’s longest serving Major Partner and are delighted to be announcing an extension of this partnership for another three years until 2023.”

Mission Foods is one of the world’s largest tortilla, flatbread and corn flour producers and is engaged primarily in the production, marketing, distribution and sale of tortillas, tacos, corn chips, wraps, flatbreads, corn and wheat flour.

“Mission Foods first came on board with the Western Bulldogs in 2009 when we really needed a major partner to help us through a difficult financial period,” said Bulldogs’ President Peter Gordon.

“And now, in the midst of a global pandemic which has placed enormous financial pressure on the Club and the entire industry, Mission Foods are there again to help take us forward.  We couldn’t ask for a more loyal and steadfast partner.

“We are very much looking forward to continuing to build the Mission Foods brand, as we’ve done for over a decade already.

“We have been encouraging all of our members and fans to back the brands who back us, and we encourage them to continue to support Mission Foods.

“I want to finally take the opportunity to thank our club’s Chief Commercial Officer Nick Truelson for his commitment in getting this agreement completed in this time and under such difficult circumstances.

“We have asked an enormous amount of our staff in recent times.  During the COVID lockdown, Ameet, Nick and our skeleton team have worked longer hours on lesser pay in remote locations and they have maintained a total focus on preserving the business during these tough times.  The Club’s board is grateful for their work.”
