The Western Bulldogs had five players among the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award votes in Sunday’s win against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

Midfielders Tom Liberatore and Jack Macrae, defenders Bailey Dale and Zaine Cordy, and emerging forward Cody Weightman all featured for the Bulldogs.

However, it was North midfielder Ben Cunnington who led the way, receiving eight votes.

Liberatore (25 disposals, two goals), Weightman (four goals) and Dale (23 disposals, two goals) each earned five votes.

Ball magnet Macrae moved into equal 13th spot on the leaderboard, collecting three votes for his 31-disposal game.

Cordy also claimed a vote for his performance in the Bulldogs’ back line.

Skipper Marcus Bontempelli didn’t feature in the voting, but remains five votes clear of Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver at the top of the leaderboard.
